Some people have properties too large to be covered by even the best mesh Wi-Fi set, especially if they have a lot of land. That’s a problem Eero wants to solve with the Outdoor 7, an add-on to the Eero 7 Series mesh Wi-Fi nodes that’s built to live outside. The hardware is IP66 rated and the company says it will keep working in temperatures from -40F to 130F, no matter the weather.
With a range of up to 15,000 square feet, Eero says the Outdoor 7 is suitable for everyone, whether it’s a cafe owner with a patio or a landowner who wants to keep their security cameras connected. Each unit supports Wi-Fi 7 with speeds up to 2.1Gbps, works with Thread, Zigbee, and Matter devices, and has a 2.5Gb Ethernet port with support for Power over Ethernet. You’ll also get a mounting kit that lets you screw it into plaster, vinyl, wood or fiber cement walls.
After CES and ahead of Samsung’s Unpacked, the Engadget crew had a quick chance to catch its breath this week. But we still kept an eye on the deal machine to see which tech sales are worth your money.
Right now, we’re seeing some good deals from Apple – one on the latest iPad mini and another on the new 15-inch MacBook Air – as well as a first-time discount on the Kindle Colorsoft ereader.
There are some discounts on Bluetooth trackers that help you keep track of your keys and bags. And Best Buy is still running a promotion for three free months of Apple TV+ so you can start watching the recently released season two of Severance. Here are this week’s best tech deals you can still get today.
That matches the price this set was going for on Black Friday. This is our current favorite premium power bank, thanks to the sleek design, easy-to-read display, and fast charging capabilities. But what really makes it stand out is the charging base. Magnets align the base with the battery, so it’s easy to put down and recharge. The base also offers additional USB ports so you can charge other accessories at the same time.
All four colors are currently on sale at Amazon for the latest MacBook Air. We positively reviewed the laptop last year, with plenty of performance for both productive work and casual play. The keyboard and trackpad are fantastic, making the laptop a joy to use. We currently recommend the M3 MacBook Air as the best MacBook for most people.
