Apple Vision Pro has seen some new benefits since its release in February, and the latest comes via Vimeo. The video platform has launched an app for Apple’s Vision Pro that allows users to view, create, and share spatial videos. “The launch of our Apple Vision Pro app is an important milestone in our ongoing mission to push the boundaries of video experiences,” said Vimeo CEO Philip Moyer.
“Spatial content like this is the future of storytelling, and we’re proud to be at the forefront of this revolution.” Content can be sent privately or shared publicly from the iOS and visionOS apps or Vimeo’s website.
Users can also capture spatial videos with Vimeo on the iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple also plans to introduce a Final Cut Pro update by the end of 2024 that lets users edit spatial videos on their Macs.
When Apple released Vision Pro our feelings were very mixed. We gave it a 74 in our original review because its immersive video and micro-OLED screen were so impressive, but its weight and lack of native apps, among other issues, made us call it “a beta product for developers.”
Two months and a few updates later we’re more impressed because of features like Spatial Persona, which makes it feel like avatars are right there in your home. Plus, it offers some 3D movies and more games for Apple TV+ subscribers.
All four colors are currently on sale at Amazon for the latest MacBook Air. We gave the laptop a positive review last year, with plenty of performance for both productive work and casual play. The keyboard and trackpad are fantastic, making the laptop a joy to use. We currently recommend the M3 MacBook Air as the best MacBook for most people.
If you’re a Prime member, you can save $50 on the recently released Colorsoft Kindle, also known as the first Kindle with color. This is the first discount we’ve seen since the introduction of this model. We experienced a “yellow band” problem with our review unit, but later received an updated reader for which Amazon made “appropriate adjustments” to resolve the issue.
The software and display adjustments the company implemented worked — and we actually liked the overall effect better. Check out our review for the full story.
